What is WWOOF®?

Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms (WWOOF) links visitors with organic farmers, promotes an educational and cultural exchange and builds a global community conscious of ecological farming practices.

WWOOF was founded in 1971 and is one of the world’s first educational and cultural exchange programs. Today, WWOOF is in more than 132 countries around the world (and growing).

WWOOF in Denmark

WWOOF Denmark is the national organization helping to create local WWOOFing opportunities in Denmark and to promote sustainable farming as a lifestyle.

Visitors, or 'WWOOFers', share in daily life with their host and learn about organic agriculture, while spending about half of each day helping out on a farm.

Séjour enrichissant, de belles valeurs dans un décor bien travaillé. Les terres de la famille sont étendues et diversifiées ! Nos activités sont variées, toujours bien guidées. Jardinage, récolte multiple, débroussaillage, étiquetage dans la cidrerie, entretien des espaces extérieurs et communs. Le cadre est clair, permettant de s’épanouir au sein du collectif (autres woofeurs et membres de la famille).

I was on the farm with Björn and Vera for 5 weeks, and had a soooo nice time with the two. If you are in the mood for variety and versatile work, the farm is really perfect. I was allowed to learn and discover many new things between craft work in a holiday apartment, renovation/painting a motorhome, mowing lawns, weeding and building plant beds and coating them myself! Also stand up paddling for the first time with Björn when he just started his new business! The two are super chill about the working hours and when you want to go somewhere in the week or on the weekend! Loved it there

My friend and I had an excellent time with Hanne and Johannes! It was our first experience and also our hosts first experience, so we didn't know entirely what to expect. However, both in terms of work and leisure, it turned out amazing. We completed a variety of tasks which meant we were never bored, and received in return truly excellent food, board game nights, and some great visits to the local town and beach. Recommend strongly!

Lille Graesgard is a very calm and cute place next to the sea. We had a lovely time there ! The wwoofer's accomodation is very comfortable : we had our own space within the house. Marc is a very welcoming guy, eager to share stories and knowledge. He made us feel like friends, and we were fully integrated into the household. We shared a lot of meals, and could also cook independently if we wanted. The work is quite diverse and interesting : brushcutting and fencing, fruit gathering, gardening, herding the goats, feeding the various animals (ducks, chickens, cats, goats and billygoats...), cooking and cleaning. The working hours are flexible and adaptable with communication. Thanks for everything Marc, beware of the cucabit while we're away ! Greetings to Juna and Maureen.

Klaas Belgium

Vera and Björn have big plans with their farm, and being part of that early stage makes the work feel genuinely meaningful. They're warm hosts who give you space to contribute according to your talents, which is nice. Living in the van surrounded by nature and close to the sea was a real highlight. The surrounding landscape also was really peaceful which made it easy to unwind. I loved my stay at Nymarkfarm!

I had an amazing stay with Poula-Line and Nanur Ah ! Everyone was adorable, the house and neighborhood are beautiful and the place was so peaceful. We would work 5 hours per day (very trust-based ), and have enough free time to visit and discover the country around. I highly recommend this place, Poula is a super host ;)

Heather and Ross are just amazing! The tasks are varied, the place is really beautiful and cosy, and we’re made to feel very like home. We learn loads about growing, the different ways to use the produce, and how to preserve it. Heather does lots of different things, which opens up a whole range of possibilities. We’re also learning a lot from the community garden. It’s a 100% welcoming experience and the accommodation is brilliant! Heather’s such a great cook!! A big shout-out to the two lovely cats and the hens! I highly recommend it :)

I spent three weeks at Ökobo, gaining my first experience as a WWOOFer in organic farming. It was a wonderful time spent in a stimulating community alongside the other WWOOFers, the residents of Björnö, and the farm staff. I was introduced to biodynamic gardening and focused my efforts on harvesting and crop maintenance. Martin, Frederik, and Sif offered helpful guidance, and working with them was a real pleasure. Thank you so much. It was a fantastic start to my time as a WWOOFer and will serve as the beginning of future placements.

I truly enjoyed staying at Bjerregaarden. Signe and Mads and their family shew great hospitality and there wasn´t a moment I felt lost - during work or on a personal level. My tasks were varied and manageable; they will give you tasks that are appropriate to your level of strength and you can always take a break when you need one. However, I think it´s important to be motivated and open for conversation to truly enjoy and engage. :) My time at Bjerregaarden will stay in my heart!

Super nice hosts, felt very welcome and part of the family real quick. Different kind of tasks every day and all of them were very exciting to complete!! Can highly recommend to go there because of a warm and friendly atmosphere and a wonderful farm with various animals who are all living a great life in best conditions.
