Eco-net (our national NGO) and the farm is in need of hands to clean up an attic so that a library with books about Nature, the Environment and Agriculture can be established as it was and should be again!
It is a good summer job when there is a little rain, so there is also time to sort through the many things, most of which are stored books that will go to the new Bogby Sydfyn that Øko-net has established in an old Dairy not far from the farm!

We are making the first Book City on Sydfyn...!
A Book City saves literature and music! And creates a community for culture and nature! And focuses on resources and recycling. New acquaintances and members! We will hold literature and music events in a cool new setting
And we ar full filling the project: Jordens Værksted (Earths Workshop) is the collective title for a series of spaces within the training and learning property on Ærtevej. The project aims to further develop and create the framework for green public education and courses at the Lev and Lær Farm in Ollerup, Svendborg Municipality. The goal is to establish more accommodation facilities on the farm and to create a vibrant space for courses and seminars on nature and the environment. Examples of courses include nature therapy, culture/nature debates, eco-living, children, sustainable food, and music. Additionally, there is a strong focus on climate action and biodiversity preservation – ensuring it.
Its a fullfiling of the first big step: the grassroots-farm-meeting-place (for new organic-small-scala-farmers, Earth-to-Table-kitchen for peoples-gaterings and training/education in clean food and superfoods, and Ngo-Activists) - a living and free place for debate, actions and solutions for the future in relation to climate and environment.
The project focuses on nature and the environment, climate, learning, culture, and debate. One goal is to create space for more overnight participants. Jordens Værksted serves as the hub for creative projects in nature and the environment. The project is a continuation and expansion of green adult education courses, where a cornerstone is the already established meeting stable and kitchen workshop room.
There is now a focus on being able to accommodate up to 20 overnight course participants. Jordens Værksted is to be located in a smaller old stable building (95 m2 from around 1950) – with the aim of showcasing the reuse of a detached building (previously a pigsty/workshop/washhouse).
The place will be developed with multiple functions, including the establishment of three rooms for students and artist residencies. Two rooms are located to the west and one to the east. The room in the middle will be an earth workshop – Jordens Værksted. A space for nature activities, so that the room serves as a base for knowledge about the site and the earth's biodiversity, which is under severe pressure. It will be a combined earth/nature space where both children and adults can find time for reflection and gain knowledge. The room will serve as a multi-purpose space for nature and the environment, as well as an additional workshop room connected to the Lev and Lær Farm's meeting room and kitchen workshop room.
WE ARE SPECIALLY looking for hands and help in building and reconstruction! And helping the first Book City to open in a nearby old agricultural store.

Lars is a folk high school teacher, and Lisbeth is a social worker.

Work: tending vegetable for self-sufficiency and local sale, renovating building for educational purposes - this will be very actually in 2017-18, where we need help from e.g. carpenters and bricklayers.
Accommodation: workmens hut or a room in the house. Food is organic and often vegetarian, and we are non-smokers.
Guests are welcome all year round - but its best from spring till autumn. Long-term stays can be arranged as we agree.

Ecology on Peaway is the name of the small company running the field. We are running a big vegetable-garden and in future a new eatable permaculture green fence around the fields!

Current projects: Our project on the farm
Eco-net, Living & Learning Smallfarm and the organic farming Ecology on Peaway, cooperates to put local food on the table, through courses, workshops and folk kitchens in Sydfyn, between Ollerup and Svendborg.
In the kitchen there will be fresh produce directly from the organic farming Ecology on Peaway - and there will be work with cider production, fermentation / milk acidification and, in general, everyday food through own production.
An old pig stable at the cafeteria must be converted into a kitchen-workshop room for locals, including refugees and students.
The project's physical framework
The farm is a classic houseboat from 1852, situated in beautiful nature by Ollerup in southern Funen. The 7.7 hectares of land have been ecologically grown since 2006, and the production of vegetables and Galloway cattle covers both own consumption and marketing. The stable buildings lie to the north as the transferee in a T to the farmhouse, whose facade faces east / west and gates to the south. The house is separated from the old stables by a carriage port, which is beautifully decorated with large glass sections and is used as a smaller meeting room. In the barns there are two toilets with shower, a technology room with geothermal heating, and meeting room and upcoming kitchen
It includes the project
The project involves the completion of the course as eco-net will stand for a course in.
It is the eastern stable that has to be transformed into a kitchen workshop, through the establishment of a smaller 'large' kitchen with less machinery like recycling.
In addition, windows and doors are to be replaced in the kitchen area, as well as the side windows in the meeting room, where there are also four large glass doors to be placed where the old faucets are now sitting. North of the kitchen workshop is planned and established parking and terrace for the place.
Organization of the project and involvement of volunteers
It is the eco-net, an environmental and public awareness society from 1994, which is responsible for organizing the project and running it after completion. There are many volunteers on the farm, including is a wwoof host, and has volunteer young people from all over the world who are involved in the production of vegetables, etc.
Relationship with the community
The site is closely linked to the community, and there has been farm sales and guided tours through the last 10 years on site.
