Lambs in one of our fields in one of the most beautiful locations in Denmark

We have room for 1-2 woofers in 2026 from april thru september. Projects and jobs for the year: Easter and on for lambing season (2 weeks prefered) Early april and on for vegetable garden Finishing building the greenhouse (its been a multi year project) Fencing and maintaining. Building and reparing Rabbitcages Harvesting hay When we bought the farm in 2016 with 6 hectares our plan was just to be selfsustaining, but due to all sort of coincidences we started to become more and more farmers. The farm was organic when we bought it so for us it was natural to just keep going in that direction. We have been expanding over the years and will from 2026 have more than 180 hectares of primarily grassland and protected nature to take care of. We have a few guidelines that we try to stick to, when slaughtering and animal use as much as possible, which means hides, inerts, wool, bones etc. When growing in the vegetable garden we try to produce our own seeds, and when grazing we try to control it in the most beneficial way for biodiversity. Henrik is full time, Mette works parttime as a teacher at a local independant school. We love to have wwoofers around the farm, we try to have all meals together as we think thats the best way to get to learn people, and it usually is a good opportunity to discus the world, the past, the politics, the farming and our dreams. Langebjerggård is a smaller organic farm that raises lamb, rabbits and chicken. We have older and slower growing breeds. We have about 180 hectares , of which 130 is protected nature where our sheep and lambs grase. The rest is rabbit and chicken fields and forrest . We do most of the butchering and processing of the meat on the farm. The farm dates back to 1773, and we have been running it since 2016. We are Henrik (55) and Mette (50) and our three dogs, 7 cats, +200 sheep, +150 rabbits and +400 chicken. Organic methods: According to Danish/EU standards Certifications: Aut.no. 1105320 Internet access available

"In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous." - Aristotle Fortunately for all, I cannot copy/paste the 800 page novel of my experience, I trust this quote suffices at maximum volume. Thank you Mette + Henrik for sharing your peaceful little slice of heaven and immense knowledge. It was an unforgettable experience that has successfully ruined normal life for me, because it is all I think about since leaving. Your farm not only affirmed my initial expectations of extraordinary, but went beyond to become something powerfully idyllic only found in works by Monet, Van Gogh, or one's dreams. The charismatic abode worked synergistically with mother nature, flourishing depths of inspiration, reflection, and appreciation for life. It revealed itself each day as the true epitome & embodiment of pure idyllic serendipity. In a world where creativity, wonder, and awe are routinely pulverized and stuffed into the depressing sausage casing of society, thanks for rekindling these instead! Thank you for your patience & proving simplicity to be the ultimate form of sophistication. No amount of words can describe how grateful I am for the opportunity, and the highest privilege to learn from you both. Thank you for restoring genuine humility & unconditional respect for life's simplest things back to me. I cherished every second we spent together and can't wait for when we meet again!!

Im not gonna lie Mette and Henrik really felt like my parents. They’re adorable. It is a peaceful and loving experience even if the Wwoof thing tells me to only speak about factual stuff😭 Not that much work, a bit repetitive so like I said, peaceful. Every morning after a good (!) (with handmade stuff) breakfast I moved bunny cages and I gave food to chickens/sheep. The afternoon I could move by car with Henrik to check other fields. Or clean shit haha. I usually finished my work early in the afternoon. You’ll probably have one day per week to relax like I had. Remember to not get attached to those beautiful cute animals. And don’t worry you won’t have to kill them yourself. Important ! Just in case, don’t consider to be there to do tourism, there’s like nothing in the area. You’ll be able to enjoy Copenhagen on your rest day. You have beautiful landscapes though. I think they are intelligent, carrying, curious people. I really hope I will be able to see them again. (Im not even saying all that under pressure I promise) See ya Henrik and Mette take care :)

Staying at Mette and Hendrik's farm was a great opportunity to learn more about Danish agriculture and the agricultural policies in Denmark. Most of the daily work consisted of basic farm tasks, such as feeding the rabbits, chickens, and lambs. Besides that, there were also a variety of practical jobs, including mowing the grass, trimming hedges, and helping to build a greenhouse. This made the work diverse and enjoyable. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were shared in the kitchen, which was also a nice place to relax, chat, and unwind after work. The working hours were fair, and the beautiful landscape surrounding the farm, together with the stunning sunsets, made it a wonderful place to stay. For someone who is already an experienced WWOOFer or familiar with farm work, two weeks may be a little long, as the range of tasks is somewhat limited. However, for someone staying for about a week, or for people with little farming experience, it is an excellent opportunity to learn about farming and experience life on a Danish farm. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would recommend it to anyone interested in agriculture, rural life, and experiencing Danish farm culture.

This week at Henrik & Mette's farm has been fantastic! I've been able to look after the animals, pick fruit, and help out a bit with the greenhouse renovation. They're a wonderful couple who really take care of you, even helping you remove thorns from your feet ;) Thank you both for these days; it's been a pleasure meeting you and sharing this time. Who knows, maybe we'll see each other again soon! I 100% recommend the experience at their farm.

This review took me a long time to write because I still don’t feel like words can fully capture how much this experience meant to me. I stayed with Mette and Henrik for five weeks, and I’m already planning my return in late May—which says everything. From the moment I arrived, they met me with a level of kindness and patience that truly touched me. It was my first time ever working on a farm, and I learned so much—not just about Denmark or farming, but about myself. There was something incredibly healing about being in a place where love is so present and so genuine. You can feel how deeply they care for their animals in everything they do, and it made me so grateful to be even a small part of that. The little moments are the ones I’ll carry with me forever—Henrik sharing his music with me, Mette teaching me how to knit, the quiet, beautiful rhythms of daily life on the farm. This experience meant more to me than I can properly express. It felt like being welcomed into something truly special, and I will always hold it close to my heart. I’m beyond grateful, and I already can’t wait to come back.

My stay with Henrik & Mette was truly the dream WWOOF experience. They were always so kind, patient, and excited to share their life with me and my co-wwoofer and despite being a solo female traveler in an unfamiliar country, I always felt totally safe, comfortable, and like part of the family! The farm was super cosy and there were plenty of both animal & garden chores to go around, but often we had the entire afternoon off to rest, go on bike rides, etc. Nearly all of our meals were together, which was such a treat and they were all absolutely delicious. If I’m ever back in Denmark, Langebjerggård will undoubtably be my first stop!
