We live on a beautiful old farm in a lush and varied landscape, close to forest, lake and farmland. There are many possibilities for hiking and biking - e.g. 11 km to a pleasant beach. Work: tending the garden, give the fields strong attention concerning bioderversity, pruning trees, household work and seasonal work with the sheep as well as repairs of the farm as making gates. Accommodation: a room in the house. We can host 3 persons at a time. We are non-smokers. Guests are welcome the year round. Extended stays are possible according to agreement. Guests are integrated in our everyday life in the family and with guests and activities. Certifications: Strives for sustainable living Current projects: Many different kind of small jobs, but a current challenge is cutting down a big tree. :-) Internet access available

I spent 2 weeks at Saxholm and it couldn't have been better: a wonderful landscape, interesting talks with Helene and Magda , satisfying work and good food! And a coffee in the morning:)Thanks for all that, Helene!

I've lived at Helene's place for a period of two weeks and the work was quite challenging for a person who lives in a city like me, although I enjoyed it a lot and I would do it again for sure. During my stay I participated in the daily life of a farmer, which I had never experienced before in my life, including cutting wood, taking care of the sheeps, painting a wall, collecting wood for bonfires, digging some soil, collecting berries. Helene was very nice and sweet to bring me to the ceramic festival where a lot of nice pieces were showcased. The house was very old-style( century-old house) but with the usual comfort (wi-fi also !!). My room was tiny but It had everything I needed for living. The cats were fantastic and also the dog even if it was for a short time. Helene got me to know the tipical Denmark dish: the Smørrebrød. If you are planning to visit Saxholm I'd really suggest you but be aware that there are very few cities around there and it could be difficult to move with the public transport. But don't worry, you'll enjoy your stay. Thank you Helene for your ospitality! Kind regards, Lorenzo.

Although we were only on Saxholm farm for a week, it was an enjoyable week. Helene is very friendly and treated us very well, every meal and conversation was always a pleasure. The animals on the farm are also very friendly, the dog, cats and sheep were with us when we were working. Her house is beautiful and warmly decorated, and the food is very good. We picked apples, fed the sheep, cleared weeds and trees, and cleaned the barn and wall. The evenings were always well rested, and going for walks around the farm was very relaxing entertainment. We highly recommend it.

I stayed one month with Helene and it was a true blessing. She made me feel at home from the first second and treated me like a daughter. The work was mostly physically demanding but never boring because everyday there was something new to do. I loved the conversations with Helene during work, while eating or in the car; always educational, enrichining and funny as well. I haven't met such a warm and laughing person in a long time. Helene included me in her daily life and helped me with everything I asked her for. There is a lot to explore in the region and everything is reachable by bike. I couldn't be more satisfied with my very first wwoof experience and I'm gonna for sure come back. I recommend this farm to anybody who is looking for a peaceful place with a wonderful person.

I've passed one winter month with my boyfriend at Saxholm farm, and it was great! :) Helene is an attentive host, I've learned to do a lot of things and learned about danish culture with her! She's a very good cooking and she would be happy to teach you some recipes if you ask! (Thank you again for teach us to do bread! Fantastic!! =D). We were always accepted and been a part of her family life, it was really appreciable. A lot of crazy discussion with Helene and her wonferful daughters :) The jobs I've done are very variable : cut bushes, clean bricks, build a structure for the cats, repair gates, use screw driver again and again =P, paint doors, take down entire wood walls!, do some concrete... a lot of different things! Helene is very patient, take attention and time to explain you how to do things. The countryside is very pretty even if it's isolated. The small cities around, like Faxe are cute and the beach is really great! I really recommend this farm if you want to meet welcome and kind people, and discover a farmer life! =D
