We are Lars and Mireille and our daughter Lea. We live in a house by the sea.. In our large permaculture garden we grow vegetables, apples and strawberries for our own use. We also grow organic christmas trees. We have a campground for tourists next to the house which is open from april to october. We have a lot of plans and projects. We want to make the campground more sustainable, We have build four wagons for the tourists. And a sauna by the sea. Next projects are two new cabins for the campground in sustainable materials and good woodcraft. We have goats. We have started up a whole new vegetable garden from scratch. Lars is a vegetarian and therefore we eat mostly vegetarian food. We bake our own bread and we love good food. We travel a lot and we enjoy socialising. Lars is a retired teacher from a teacher training college - he used to be a Crafts and Design teacher. He now work with ceramics and has his own workshop. Mireille is a doctor (GP). We go to work some days and when we are at home we enjoy working around the house. Lea is a furniture maker and she helps running the campground. In the summer we take care of the campground. We are very active people. We do running/yoga and you might join us kayaking. Work: Maintaining the permaculture garden and campground, building projects of all kinds and working in the fruit orchard. Sharing our work in the house by cooking and cleaning. Families are welcome. You will stay in a comfortable tent with a bed or in a cosy wagon. Long term stays sometimes possible. When you stay at our place, we will have dinner together at 6 pm at our house. The other meals you will take care of yourself at the campground kitchen. There are other indoor areas with wifi where you can relax. We prefer not to have wwoofers in our private house except at dinner time, because our house is our workspace for office work. Non smokers only. Organic methods: Permaculture Current projects: Building two new cabins in timber, straw and clay and developing our permaculture garden Internet access available

I had an amazing stay at Mireille and Lars’, they were great host, they made me feel very welcome and showed me a lot of things. The activities were varied and all very interesting. The place is amazing and I was lucky to stay in one the house cabins which I really loved. The whole family was nice to us. I highly recommend it. Thank you so much!

I had the most amazing time at Lars and Mireille's beautiful place. The whole family and the people working/staying at the organic campsite are so welcoming, kind and fun to talk to. Lars is a great teacher; most of the time, we (another wwoofer and me) worked with him, planting strawberries, picking apples, weeding, woodworking and cleaning. He is open to explain and teach you a lot and flexible with your interests. In the afternoons, we could explore the surroundings by bike with some great tips from Mireille and Lars! The area is also perfect for some good runs, a swim or some supping/kayaking on the water. It really was a great experience and I would love to come back for a longer stay in the upcoming years. Thank you Lars and Mireille for this great experience, your open arms and exchanging stories!

I stayed for two weeks in April and had a great time. Lars, Mireille and Lea were wonderful hosts, they made me feel very welcome and comfortable from the start. I lived in a cosy wagon (with heating) on the campground with amazing views oft he sea. I prepared breakfast and lunch myself in the campsite kitchen. Dinner we had together and it was always very delicious and varied. Not to forget the delicious home made bread from Lars. I was able to participate in family life. I will never forget the rolling eggs on Easter Monday… 😉 I worked mainly with Lars and he shares all his knowledge easily and you will learn a lot about permaculture gardening. The garden is a real haven of peace. We also renovated rooms in an old house (paint doors, clean, furnish). Or I helped clean the tiny wagons on the campground. The work is various. I had time to myself in the afternoons and days off where I hiked and mainly went on bike tours. I was able to use the e-bike which was very helpful to explore the surroundings and places further away (Rudkobing, Egeskov Castle, Svendborg, Faaborg…). It is a beautiful landscape. It was also nice meet the people on the campground and talk to them. All the best and thank you!

I stayed with lars and mireille for a total of two weeks and can highly recommend it! The campsite and the property are lovely and cozy, so I really felt at home. They made me feel very welcome and integrated. Most evenings we had dinner together and they always had something interesting to tell me. I was always able to choose the work myself, it wasn't too much and was always fun. Whether it was gardening, repairing small things or feeding the animals, I learned a lot. In my free time, I was able to explore the surrounding area or simply relax on the campsite. One afternoon we paddled to the island in a kayak, and me and my boy friend went kitesurfing. All in all, it was a really great two weeks and I'm looking forward to coming back sometime :)

Doing my first wwoofing experience at Lars‘ and Mireille‘s place was a fantastic choice. A beautiful, ecological campground with a large permaculture, goats and chicken. Was able to join in the daily activities ranging from feeding the animals to cutting wood. Lars helped me increasing my learning experience in every possible way. I stayed in one of the wooden wagons which was perfect. We had meals together, did a great kayak-tour to Skarø together and the family made it easy to feel „at home“ Last, but not least: They are among the friendliest people I have met throughout my life and it was just a perfect 5-day-stay! Thanks for having me!
