Famaly farm
Central Jutland
We are (by Danish standards) a small farm of 24 ha
where we have both forest, grain, grass, vegetables, fruit, hops, a greenhouse, goats, pigs, chickens, dog and cat.
In addition to this, we also have a brewery on the farm where we make beer, a wood workshop, a cafe and shop.
our idea with the farm is to make us as self-sufficient as possible in the cafe, the brewery, the workshop.
Since we do so many different activities, there is something to do, on the farm all year round, so we are therefore open for wwoofer all year round.
In the field, you must sow, plant, weed, harvest, build fences and pick fruit, pine needles and hops
In the cafe/shop, a lot of vegetables have to be washed and chopped, cakes and bread baked, meatballs fried, rye bread spread, served and washed up. and pack vegetables for sale in the stall, put labels on beer and boil syrup
in addition, there will be maintenance of buildings.
When you are here. we try to get you involved both in the field and in the cafe. so you both help produce the vegetables and the meat and help transform it into food for the customers in the cafe.
if you have the opportunity to be here 1-2 months or more, you will have the opportunity to try many of the skills, and see coherence in our farm.
if you are here for a short time, there will also be many things you can learn.
when you come here you work 5 hours a day for 6 days
so there is plenty of time each day to get out and see the island.
it is different what time of day you start, as it depends on the task you have to do.
we try to make a plan for 1 month at a time. but since much of our work depends on the weather, there may well be changes.
we have two farms that are about 300 meters apart, we, the cafe/shop, workshop are on one
The wwoofers live on the second, here there are 7 rooms, a large shared kitchen and living room, there is free internet. for the most part you can have your own room. but if there are many wwoofers there may be periods when there are 2 in a room.
In the summer, there are many wwoofers who want to stay with us, so you will often get to share a room with another wwoofer.
we cook in the middle of the day, and the wwoofers themselves cook breakfast and dinner together from the food they get from us, (most of the food we eat comes from the farm's own organic production)
We have bikes you can borrow. So in your spare time you can cycle around and see the island
there is approx. 500 meters to a good swimming beach, 1 km up to our shelters where you can camp. The island is about 25 km long, so you can reach it all by bicycle
You are always welcome to write and ask if there is more you want to know
In winter, we can have 1-3 Wwoofer. In the spring and autumn , we can have 3-5 Wwoofer. In summer we can have 10-14 Wwoofer

My stay on Samsø island was too short 😔 I loved being there. I had a wonderful time living with international woofers in a cosy atmosphere at home. And I had an amazing time working with Kim and Stinne in the brewery or on the field. Kim is a malicious, funny, gentle guy, I like his soft soul. Stinne is a strong, tough, passionate lady, I like a energy very much. Both showed me trust which helped me feel confident in the daily work and part of their projects.
Thank you and see you in summer time 😉

I spent two weeks with Kim and Stinne, and it was amazing. The time flew by way too fast. I really wish I could have stayed longer !
The work was varied, and the different shifts made each day feel unique and interesting. The house we stayed in was great, with everything we could possibly need.
Stinne is a fantastic cook lunch was always delicious. Kim is absolutely lovely and happy to share his skills and knowledge in the workshop, along with beer tastings that were always a highlight.
Definitely one of my best woofing experiences !

I don't think that Samsø Bryghus needs more good reviews to convince you how great this place is! I will instead use my review to tell you that you should cherish every moment that you spend with Stinne and Kim, because they are wonderful people who have a lot of things to share, so be interested and ask them anything that comes to your mind!
An important thing to consider is the timing of your stay, and how that will change your experience. You'll most likely have a more social time in the summer, filled with beach trips and sunny days, but my time in Oct/Nov was not so bad either (for me). As long as you don't expect the wrong things, you won't be disappointed.

During my month on the farm, I got to help out in the fields with harvesting, planting, and all sorts of hands-on stuff.
Working outside is super rewarding, and you really learn a lot about how they grow local fruits and veggies. Inside, I also chipped in with serving customers in the cafe, cleaning up, and putting food together.
Stinne and Kim they're really friendly and understanding, and you quickly feel like you're part of the day-to-day life both on the farm and where you're staying. You get a great mix of physical work and teamwork, and are always ready to give you helpful advice and get you involved in the regular routines.
Mealtimes are a fun chance to catch up with everyone, and the vibe is really chill and relaxed. If you’re looking to experience life on a Danish island, pick up some practical skills, and enjoy amazing company, this is definitely the place to be!

My friend and I had SUCH a wonderful time with Kim and Stinne! We were unfortunately only able to stay for a week, but they made us feel so welcome and I loved all of the work we were able to do, both in the cafe and fields! Highly recommend as a first WWOOFing experience and to stay longer than a week :)

I had a wonderful six weeks at Bryghus Farm! I can highly recommend spending your WWOOFing time here if you enjoy both working in the fields and in the restaurant/kitchen.
Kim and Stinne are very welcoming, with a great sense of humor. We shared some lovely barbecues, outdoor games, and every Saturday a beer tasting together. I really appreciated that time! They also care deeply about the environment, local food and sustainability, which is great!
The tasks are very diverse. There is a clear work schedule – some days you work outside, and other days in the kitchen. This makes the experience very interesting. In September we also had a harvest market at the café, which was an amazing experience! I got to set up the stall, present the vegetables, sell, and connect with both locals and tourists. Thank you for giving me that opportunity!
Another great aspect was that there were many other WWOOFers at the same time. I really enjoyed the exchange and community with them – it made the whole experience even richer.
The WWOOF house is very spacious and has everything you need. I immediately felt at home there.
I am looking forward coming back someday!
