OBS - we seek wwoofers who wants to help us picking apples in oktober 2025. We thougth the harvest would be small, but it turns out its bigger than expected. So we will be happy if you will join us:-) (5. sept 2025)
ABOUT US:
We live on a wonderfull organich appleorchard with old appletrees and a lot of other fruittrees and berries. We have a big vegtablegarden, where we grow a lot of our own food. We have honeybees, ducks and hens wich provide us with honey, meat and eggs.
We bake fresh bread every day and enjoy making great food.
We have 3 kids of the age of 7, 11 and 13 years, two cats and two friendly little dogs.
Signe is an expirented educator in gardening, biodiversity and have recently publiched a book about our vegtablegarden.
Mads is an excellent cook, creating a lot of lovely meals from our own garden. (We eat only a little meat, but are not vegan og vegetarian).
The farm is not far from Copenhagen and only 10 minutes from Hvalsø trainstation, where we pick you up, when you arrive.
If you want to take trips to e.g. Copenhagen, you can easy and cheap get to the station with puplic transportation called "plustur".
As Wwoofer you are living upstairs with the other woofers or in our small cottage. There are 2 rooms upstairs, so you migth share with the others. There are a seperat bathroom and toilet upstairs.
We always dine together in the evening and eat the lunch together when possible. In the morning Signe and Mads gets up early with the kids, so you eat breakfast with the other wwoofers exept from the weekends, where we mostly eat together.
The house is 250 square meter devided on two floors, and you will have acces to the the first floor with other WWOOFers. The farm is 25 acres - with many different kinds of apples, fruits and berries and 2000 walnut trees! We have several lakes and ponds.
We would like your help us take care os the animals, repair fences, build stof, make firewood, maintaine the buildings, pick apples and other fruits as well as weeding and take care of the vegtablegarden and the greenhouse.
Be prepared for some hard work and sore mussels, but also the great saticfaction of a job well done!
In the spring we (among other things)
- cut wood,
- make fences,
- sow flowers and vegtables,
- prepare the soil in the vegtable garden
- move the compost
- weed and take care of the greenhouses and
- repair and paint things.
During summer we tend the big vegtablegarden, tend the honeybees, harvest honey and maintain the buildings.
In the autum we pick the apples and make cider as well as tending the orchard, fixing and repairing what is needed. We also harvest from the garden and preserve food.
We have a million exiting projects and would love to share our thougts and experience with you:-)
We expect you to work 5 hours per day with 2 day off per week in general, but we are quite flexible about the organization. Besides the work we expect you to take part in the daily chores in the kitchen.
Practicalities;
You will be outside most of the time, so we advice you to bring good workingclothes and boots, rubberboots and rainclothes. In summer a hat is good and in spring and winther good warm clothes is a must:-)
Internet access available.
We are non-smokers and smoking is not allowed inside.
We hope you will enjoy your stay and look forward to meet you. Your help means a lot to us:-)
Best regards Signe og Mads

Highly recommended! Great work to do, beautiful and very inspiring location. Both Signe and Mads are very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the work that they do, so you get the opportunity to learn a lot (if you choose to) and to have generally great conversations. Very well-connected to get into Copenhagen or surrounding area for your days off, very fair and flexible working environment. Oh, and I haven't eaten so well in a long time ;) Just go and stay! To Signe and Mads: thanks so much for a wonderful time and I look forward to being back in future.

I had such a lovely time at Bjerregaarden and would definitely recommend it!
We would eat delicious freshly made bread everyday for breakfast and then do 5 hours of work, being flexible with when we wanted to take breaks. The tasks varied a lot and Signe and Mads took the effort to explain the reasoning behind everything that we were doing. I learnt a lot especially from listening to Signe speak about everything that she is passionate about.
The backyard is gorgeous and you can tell how much effort has gone into the whole farm.
Also I had some of the most delicious dinners ever here! Mads is such an excellent cook and we were always so excited for dinner time. The other woofers were lovely too which made my time great.

Signe, Mads, the kids, dogs, and cats were the most welcoming and generous hosts we could have asked for. By the end of our 2.5 week stay, we felt like part of the family. The work was varying, but all explained with direct instruction and communication. We were amazed and appreciative of the level of patience and amount of education they were able to share with us while juggling home life, work life, and volunteers. Between the hosts, their kids, their fantastic cooking, and the animals, it was hard to say goodbye. Make sure to visit during rhubarb season! Could not have asked for a better stay. MANGE TAK!

If you come here, you will leave happy.
Signe, Mads, and the kids are lovely people — They made it such a comfortable and rewarding wwoofing experience, offering us every hospitality. They took a genuine interest in us and our stories, made us feel appreciated, and supported us at every turn.
The work was fun and flexible with ample free time — We came in September and picked apples, built wind screens from tree branches, began work on a fenced area for a chicken coop, cleaned honeycomb frames, drove a tractor, trimmed trees, and various other activities, all in the span of a week (and I'm told those were just a few of the possible things to do).
Signe and Mads are both very knowledgeable about sustainability, farming, and tons of other things we had the pleasure of talking with them about.
The room was great, the food and cider were delicious, and the conversations were so interesting. We were made to feel right at home, and even invited on a trip to a nearby swimming lake.
We left wishing our trip allowed for more time.
