We are a family of 5. Both me and my boyfriend are in our start 30s and together we have 2 sons of 6 years and 2 year Old and a small baby girl. We live the dream life on a small organic farm in West Jutland. We are both educated farmers and have grown up with farming. Therefore it came quite naturally to us that we should have our own farm. It is mainly my boyfriend who looks after the farm as I am working as a radiographer at the local hospital. But I help on the farm when I'm home, and we hire therefore no employees. On the farm there are 32 jersey cows which we milk twice a day. In the field we have feed for the cows and organic potatoes. We have both been traveling and working on other farms around the world so it comes naturally to us that of course we have to open the doors for other young people who want to see and learn how we run our farm. Shortly said we are a family engaged and enjoying the fresh air that farming life gives us. Organic methods: On our farm the cows only calf every second year. Because this helps to protect both the environment and the cow's health. We keep all our bull calves which are castrated and fattened up for slaughter. We follow the principle of not letting anything go to waste and that everything should have a chance even though it might give red numbers on the bottom line. Certifications: ministry of environment and food of Denmark Current projects: As we have almost just taken over the farm there is a lot to be cleaned up and thrown away. In late summer the harvest begins and we must have it in house, as well as the potatoes must be picked up in oktober november. The cows are a regular part of the daily work they get milked twice a day. From marts to may the calving is going on an it is also at that time wee are starting the seeding of the land. But all this does always depend on how the weather is. Internet access available

Thank you so much for 3 great weeks, it was a pleasure to live with your family. We have learned a lot about the farm, Danish culture (especially Christmas traditions) and also about raising young children :) Mette and Jesper are very attentive, patient and always accommodating, and the activities on the farm are varied and interesting. We've had lots of enriching discussions on a wide range of subjects and Jesper has even invited us to the Herning agricultural show. Good luck with your 3 lovely little monsters 😊 Come on Blues fox !! Tag for alle !! Lysandre og Guillaume

We spent 5 weeks with Mette and Jesper in their farm. We were made very welcome by the family. There's a lot of work to do, but we did a variety of tasks: feeding the cows, milking them, building a silo, harvesting fruit, weeding, painting... We learnt a lot and never got bored.... Mette cooks delicious dishes for everyone: omnivores are welcome! We took part in family celebrations and went on excursions. This was our first experience as woofers and we have no regrets about choosing this family in Denmark. Thank you to Mette, Gasper and the children for their warm welcome, not forgetting the dog and cats, who are very affectionate.

I had amazing days as my first WWOOF experience at Jesper and Mette's place, and time passed very quickly there. Jesper and Mette taught me a lot of things, from dairy farming to Danish culture, and let me try various kinds of work, such as milking cows. They were warm and friendly, always happy to answer my questions. I also enjoyed playing with their cute kids, Jens and Knud. Their house was so comfortable, and all the food, including some traditional Danish dishes, was delicious. The family was lovely, and they were definitely wonderful hosts!

I've stayed at Mette and Jesper's place for 3,5 weeks and the time flew by. It was my first time working at a farm and I couldn't have asked for a better place to start learning the lifestyle of a farmer. From the start they let me try a lot of different tasks around the farm. At the beginning I was afraid to make mistakes, but Mette and Jesper are both patient and understanding and explained everything very well. They emerged me completely in the Danish culture by bringing me to all kinds of places outside the farm; hunting, baking Danish cookies with Mette's family, ice hockey game, birthday party of Jesper's dad and much more.. Also had a great time with the kids, Jens and Knud! They were always excited when we played together with the farmer toys and I even taught Jens to make an origami bird. There were some great moments being alone with Mette or Jesper, as well. For example, Mette taught me a lot about the Danish cooking and baking. Even writing down all the recipes for me, which I will definitely try at home! When Mette was working at the hospital, I got to work together with Jesper at the farm. He taught me how to use a lot of different machines, with my favourite being the chainsaw and the wood splitter. We had a lot of interesting conversations about farming, politics and history. And also played games together on the Playstation which was great fun! Honestly, there's too much to write about. Thank you so much for these wonderful weeks!

10 days of stay at Jasper and Mette’s farm flew out the window. The place is cozy, clean, welcoming. The hosts are amazing and very open to conversation. We were treated excellently from the welcome to the time to say goodbye. The activities are very unique compared to other wwoof farms (thankfully) and you get to experience time in the life of proper educated farmers who encompass the reality of many industrial organic farmers, on the crop side, and small dairy on the livestock aspect. We helped with the milking, both shifts, cleaning potatoes, daily tasks and some seasonal maintenance. I only wish we stayed longer, but perhaps we will be back. The English knowledge by both hosts is the best we had on wwoof so far. Hope you will have a chance to pass by! PS The food was so good!!!!!

My stay at Jesper and Mettes farm was honestly amazing. I stayed there for about two weeks and the time went by so fast because there was never a dull moment. They make a really good job on making you feel welcome into their family and they also try to show you in danish culture wich was very fun to experience. The work you do is very varied, and I did everything from milking cows, picking apples and hazelnuts, driving tractors and other machines, harvesting potatoes, working on machines and lots of other things. The work is also fast paced wich made it even more fun. Jesper would always give really good and informative answers to any questions related to ecological agriculture, he is very knowledgeable you could tell that he is really passionate about this. We had plenty of interesting discussions about ecological farming and the future of it. I would really recommend working on this farm for anyone who is interested in ecological agriculture. It was a fantastic experience and I have so many great memories from it.
