When we bought the farm in 2016 with 6 hectares our plan was just to be selfsustaining, but due to all sort of coincidences we started to become more and more farmers. The farm was organic when we bought it so for us it was natural to just keep going in that direction. We have been expanding over the years and will from 2026 have more than 180 hectares of primarily grassland and protected nature to take care of. We have a few guidelines that we try to stick to, when slaughtering and animal use as much as possible, which means hides, inerts, wool, bones etc. When growing in the vegetable garden we try to produce our own seeds, and when grazing we try to control it in the most beneficial way for biodiversity.
We have one parttime employee and Henrik is full time, Mette works parttime as a teacher at a local independant school.
We love to have wwoofers around the farm, we try to have all meals together as we think thats the best way to get to learn people, and it usually is a good opportunity to discus the world, the past, the politics, the farming and our dreams.
Langebjerggård is a small organic farm that raises lamb, rabbits and chicken. We have older and slower growing breeds. We have about 180 hectares , of which 130 is protected nature where our sheep and lambs grase.
the rest is rabbit and chicken fields and forrest .
We do most of the butchering and processing of the meat on the farm.
The farm dates back to 1773, and we have been running it since 2016.
We are Henrik (55) and Mette (49) and our three dogs, 7 cats, +200 sheep, +150 rabbits and +400 chicken.

Henrik and Mette are wonderful hosts, I had a great time staying with them. The work was an opportunity to see and contribute in a very respectful and interconnected way to manage animals and land, and I learned a lot with all that knowledge that was shared with me.

Mette and Henrik are very lovely hosts. Thank you very much for the varied insights into agriculture and life in Denmark, as well as for the lively discussions about everything under the sun.
Working with the animals was indescribably wonderful for us. We were particularly taken with Aussie, the herding dog. We had two eventful weeks and will not forget Langebjerggård in a hurry. Erika and Bernhard

Thanks for all Henrik and Mette ! It was an incredible moment. You are so welcoming, kind and interesting people. I spent beautiful moments, catching the sheep, talking with you on the evening, feeding the animals, gaving hugs to Alba, preparing the amazing "Crepes", eating the Mette's crumble or pavlova, listening to music with Henrik,
I wish you the best for everything you want ! And If you want to come in France, don't hesitate to call me😊
Thanks again

When one door closes, another opens, and this one opened wide. Henrik and Mette’s generosity and kindness left a profound impression on me. They welcomed me at a moment’s notice, when I was in need of help.
On the farm, I felt safe and trusted. The workload was fair and manageable. I especially enjoyed observing animal behavior and spending time with the other WWOOFers. Our days began at 8, starting with feeding the chickens, rabbits, and ducks. During that week, we also rounded up the sheep, weighed the lambs, and watched them being sheared.
Meals around the table were filled with laughter and warmth.
Thank you, Henrik and Mette, for taking me in. I will be forever grateful.

Our 3 weeks with Henrik and Mette were well above our expectations. Henrik and Mette are very kind and fun and immediately put us at ease. In addition to helping us with our chores, they were concerned about what we could visit nearby and gave us some very nice surprises. The farm animals are adorable, we carry out extremely varied tasks : in the morning feeding the animals and moving the rabbit cages and in the afternoon we were able to take care of the garden and harvest berries. The chores are fun, we were lucky to fall during the week of sheep shearing, it was a superb experience. Another big thank you to Henrik and Mette for this stay, we couldn't have dreamed of better!!!
