Sustainable organic farm with vegetables and farm shop.
Zealand
1. Describe your project, your place, and its inhabitants (including animals):
Hello dear woofer and thank you for your interest in our lovely farm Esagergård.
Esagergård has been run by the Nørby family since 1933 and in 1998 I bought the farm, converted it to organic in 2000 and is today a very versatile organic farm. We have 10 hectares with over 60 kinds of vegetables, 300 egg-laying hens, 15 hectares of grain and 5 hectares. green manure. Much of what we produce is sold through our farm shop, the rest through CSA, restaurants and other smaller shops. We work with regenerative cultivation, no-ploughing, building soil fertility and use our green manure as fertilizer for the fields. We are self-sufficient on the farm with many things - i.e. we use almost no external fertilizer and our energy comes from our own wind turbine and solar cells. In this way, we do our best to create sustainable, high-quality food production. When you come here as a wwoofer, we will share our knowledge with you and we will give you a very practical experience of how to run a small farm - and gain an understanding of growing vegetables.
2. List the activities that WWOOFers will participate in and what you want to teach them:
Pack, look after, clean, harvest vegetables and other outstanding work.
3. What could a WWOOFer's day look like at your site (time slot for participation in activities, expectations...)?
Start at 8 AM and stop working 14 PM. Participate in tasks alone or together with the other helpers. You will have to cook your own food, but sometimes we want to invite you for dinner.
4. Play the guide! Talk about your own hobbies (music, cooking, etc.) and those possible around (hiking, swimming, etc.):
I work a lot of hours during the season, but I make time for sports like football and mountain biking a few times a week. In the area there is beautiful nature for hiking and 5 km to the beach. We are close to Stevens Klint, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site

I really enjoyed my stay at Oles farm! Everyone working there was very welcoming. The working hours were nicely distributed since we would take two breaks in between and I felt comfortable with the work load. I liked that we did many different things during the harvest season, like weeding, harvesting, packing the vegetables and fruits and so on. The housing was also very comfortable. We had our own bedroom and kitchen and shared the bathroom with two other workers which was no problem at all. A special thank you goes out to Karen, who made sure to welcome us warmly. She took us with her to yoga lessons she teaches and to the cliffs for sightseeing. The area was also nice since it wasn`t too far away from the beach (by bike) and had a train station nearby. In conclusion, I can recommend this farm to everyone who is looking for spending some time outside, doing physical work and a calm and peaceful environment.

I 100% recommend this farm, even if it’s your very first WWOOF experience like it was for me! The work in the fields is not too tiring and changes every day, so it never gets boring. The house is cozy, and Ole’s shop is always full of fresh vegetables, fruits, and snacks to enjoy anytime.
The best part is definitely the people: the host and the couple working on the farm are incredibly welcoming and really help you discover the area. I also had a bike to use, which made it easy to visit the beach nearby and explore the near town. I was also able to participate to a yoga class held by Karen (Ole's wife) and it was super relaxing.
I only stayed for 10 days, but I truly wish I had stayed longer, at least two full weeks!
This place made me feel comfortable and inspired, and I’d be happy to come back again.
Thank you Ole and Karen :)

Thank you to Nørbys Grøntsager and all the persons I met there!!!!
I spent two amazing weeks at this farm and it was a really enriching experience!
This kind of work was totally new to me but everything was explained in an easy understandable and friendly manner and it was enjoyable to work with the whole team and to learn about sustainable and organic farming. The afternoons and the weekends were free, so I also had a lot of time to visit many places and get to know Denmark.
Furthermore the conditions at the farm were really good as the volonteers have their own appartment and can eat the delicious vegetables of the farm.
But the most important thing for me were all the people I could meet. The colleagues are very kind hearted and funny people and the Nørby family is amazing!! I had the impression that Karen and Ole are very generous, open minded and friendly people and that they really wanted me to have a good experience at the farm, thats why sometimes they proposed to eat together at their home, they took us volunteers on little car rides to get to know the environment and they explained a lot of things about their life and the farm which was absolutely enjoyable! Thank you again!! I highly recommand this place! :)

I was on this farm for one week and I’m so sorry I couldn’t stay longer because was the best experience of my life! Everyone was so kind that I felt immediately at home. The farm is in a beautiful place in the middle of nature. The work was very organized with break and never the same: from picking raspberries to pack order for clients, from collecting the eggs to picking corn, potatoes and a lot of other things. I had a room just for myself and share bathroom and kitchen with one other woofer. The food was amazing, you can take everything you want from the shop! Karen, Ole’s wife is an amazing cooker and yoga lover. It was so nice spending time with her! She likes to let you experience all the things that are in that area. Few bike were available to use to go everywhere, from the grocery store, to the station or to the beach. All the people that work in there are amazing! We’ve talked a lot about different culture and had super nice lunch/dinner together. As a first time woofer I can say it was the best experience ever! Thanks!

I spent a week WOOFing at Nørbys Grøntsager farm and I really enjoyed the variety of tasks involved in working on the farm, from harvesting to weeding to preparing vegetables for the farm shop, each day brought something new to learn. The work schedule is very well organized, and everything is clearly explained, which made me feel comfortable even as a first-timer.
One thing I especially appreciated was how well this experience suits more introverted people. Most of the work is done individually or in a small group, which allows for a peaceful atmosphere. The farm employees I worked with were incredibly kind, helpful, and welcoming and they really made my time on the farm feel special.
The workday runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., leaving you the rest of the afternoon and evening free. You prepare your own lunch and dinner.
Overall, I would recommend WOOFing at Nørbys Grøntsager to anyone interested in sustainable farming, learning new skills, and enjoying a calm and well-structured farm environment.

I couldn’t have wished for a better second Wwoofing experience than with Ole & Karen. I spent two weeks at Norbys Grontsager. They are very friendly, welcoming and Ole gives clear instructions.
The tasks were diverse and I got to know so many new things for example planting on a planting machine, harvesting potatoes and preparing the vegetables for sale.
I really enjoyed the time with the whole farm team. They were so lovely and welcoming. Also, I really liked the shared coffee break. The accomodation was cozy and I could prepare lunch and dinner in my own kitchen.
I highly recommend a trip to Stevns Klint ! The coastal walk is just amazing.
